How To Record Midi Drums In Logic Pro X

  • I know the main way Logic communicates to external devices is via MIDI events, but I don't know if there is a 'I'm recording now' MIDI event that gets fired. Here's a hacky idea that might help show what I'm trying to do: I could start every new project from a template that includes a hidden midi track with tons of notes in it, every beat or so.
  • I was also able to record a MIDI track, then create an audio track with inputs 3/4, arm the audio track, hit record, and it would record audio from the MIDI track. Now I can record a MIDI track, move notes around, adjust velocities, etc. Then get it to audio. Thanks again for everyone's help.
